Alone

When I saw this image, I got a flash of a Thomas Cole painting that hangs in the National Gallery in DC (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Cole_Thomas_The_Voyage_of_Life_Old_Age_1842.jpg).

Nice mood, good use of light. Hard to say whether it's perfect as it is, or whether you could have showed either more sky, or more water. I really like the movement of light to dark, right to left. There are so many photos to look at on this site, but I spent a lot of time looking at this one.

It's great but why such heavy false vignetting? I don't know of any situation in nature where half of the world becomes black while the rest is in bright light.

A visual delight due to the awesome lighting, diffuse,  subtle colors and great contrasts of shapes. A great feeling for space and time as well as awareness of aesthetics must have guided you while taking this shot. What a wonderful, meditative stillness is conveyed here in this very inspiring work. Great title as well.
