heider 0 Posted March 18, 2009 Iraq is my home country! This image is very emotional to me and made me think how many lives were lost in vain, Iraq is very chaotic now, and the post 2003 Iraqi dreams are: safety, electricity and water! instead of democracy freedom and prosperity! I wish there were stones on the same spots showing the Iraqi civilians killed in Iraq since Operation Iraqi Freedom. That would count for 426,369 stones! Douglas, this is a great shot to me. Best regards. H. Alward. Link to comment
dougbrill 0 Posted March 18, 2009 Hayder, Thank you so much for the comment. This memorial is setup by people that are trying to get the American soldiers back from Iraq. This is a protest against the war. There is a sign at the same site that lists the number of Iraqi casualties as well. I did not take a picture of it. We cannot change what has been done. I can only hope that in the long run things will be better for everyone. Link to comment
