Though I am very often confused by colour, the reason why there is so much bl and wt in my portfolio, in this particular case I think that I prefer the colour version ... I think it adds a new dimension which allows one to feel the ambience more closely .. an interesting image, thank you.

Amal, I like as well the colored version that adds a lot to the atmospher. It is a very nice composition, well exposed , good timing and details that are more pronounced in the colored one.. .

It's a difficult lighting situation, in that the fisherman is lost in the shadows in the b/w version. The color version is too cluttered to really make much of the scene. I lean slightly toward the b/w version only in the sense that the overall tones are better, IMO, but this is at the expense of losing the central focal point the fisherman. It is like the old saying that there are too knives in the drawer; the sharp one has no handle, and the one with a handle is too dull to do much cutting. The picture has potential, though how you go about achieving it, I'm not sure. Good luck.

I really love the color version. With the warm light and mosaic colors, it's my favorite of the two.

A difficult contrast situation indeed. Therefore I prefer the bw version with its "Indian ink character". Well composed with the free space in the fg - which additionally gave the opportunity for a reflection ...

Jeff, thank you very much for your feedback.

Daily, many thanks for your valued comment.

Emmanuel, I tried something else with the B & W image,to highlight the fisherman. Is it acceptable?

I like the original b&w image best of the three. A case could be made for the other two, certainly, but the original is strikingly composed and the simple tones highlight the composition.

I like all of them but more the BW one because the subject is better seen and make me think to this composition, grey tones fit so well, kind regards,Radu.

Jack, thank you very much for your valued comment. Now-a-days I prefer B & W, but not sure whether I am doing justice to the original image in colour.

Radu, many thanks for your appreciation and feedback

I like all versions. The color one appeals to me a bit more. I think it gives more dimentions to the action introduced in this photo. Just my opinion. Great work as always. Best regards.

The black and white image has a very artistic look about it, the darkness of the water in contrast to the objects kept on the boats makes this image one of those frames of the bygone era when light and shadows so prominently formed the basics of photography.

My choice is the initial b/w composition. Great tonality and as it is art it is documentary. However, both versions are excellent. The version 3, emphasising on the fisherman, is a question of personal taste - I guess. Regards, El

I like your original b&w and the color image equally as well, but I don't really care for the third version. It is a great bit of cropping for showing the fisherman and the other boats Nice work.

I've been traveling a bit, and unable to spend much time viewing the works of my Pnet friends. While I'm noted for some pretty unrestrained color, I have to say that I think I'd go with your original instinct and do it in black and white. While it is true the fisherman is a bit hidden, if one examines the photo as one should any work, it soon becomes apparent that he is there and is central to the image. I am not a believer in a style that makes everything immediately apparent to the viewer. Let them work. In this case, it is time well spent.

I prefer the colour version for its realistic presentation of the scene & moment. Agree with DP on the fg space that compliments the subject.

Excellent composition. As for me, I prefer the color one, because I think that shows the scene better. Also I think that the B&W edition it's not bad,it works well also. Congrats !
