Shenandoah Sunset

I took this on the last day of September this year (2008) in the "Points"

viewpoint near Big Meadows in Shenandoah National Park. Fall colors

were just coming up - and no where close to its peak. This particular

location is great for sunsets - but I was initially disappointed due to

clear skies. I waited few minutes past sunset and slowly few clouds

moved in to create a very pleasant scene. I used 3-stop G-ND filter for

this composition.

This is definitely one of my favorite from your portfolio. With soft colors in the sky, the layers of the hills are very well captured, just enough light on the hills. When have you taken this? In your recent trip to VA or during May?
