iggam 0 Posted October 14, 2002 Bambi would feel at home there... Beautiful warm colors with great light. The fog adds an unknown feeling that makes it all more attractive. Good work! Link to comment
jrsteel 0 Posted October 15, 2002 This was wonderful morning light. I corrected perspective in PS. The JPEG introduced some jaggies on trunks that are not on the original. Does this all work or should I have left the keystoning. Link to comment
woodsprite 0 Posted October 15, 2002 This image has a wonderfully otherworldly feel to it. I think faeries must live there. I like your choice of composition. The pathway (is that a pathway or is it simply a clearing?) invites the viewer to step into the image and take a walk around. Happy Shooting! :)Jacki Link to comment
sphoto 0 Posted October 15, 2002 I live in California an hour from the Sequoias and know how tricky shooting giant trees can be. Redwoods in mist are especially difficult! I really enjoy the rich colors, the weather seems to be perfectly timed. Just enough sun and just enough mist. Where exactly was this rock you were asking if you should leave in? Regardless its a magical photo! Great Work! Link to comment
warren_silva 0 Posted October 15, 2002 Beautiful light and colors. It pays to get up early! On a random sidenote- here's a little useless trivia on your name: In the book, "The Catcher In The Rye," the main character Holden Caulfield thinks that he needs a name that makes him sound tougher, and I believe he wanted it to be "Jim Steele." (Sorry to bring it up if it's something you get a lot- if so you can call me "Warren G" and we'll be even). Happy shooting. Link to comment
robert_tilden1 0 Posted October 16, 2002 Light and mist make this an exceptional photo. As great as the redwoods are, few photographers are successful. You are an exception. Link to comment
PurpWaltz 3 Posted October 16, 2002 Looks like a painting. I love the subtle colors, and overall feel of this picture. This picture is successful in several aspects - composition, light, color. Wonderful picture. Link to comment
Jeremy Stein 0 Posted October 17, 2002 This is a beautiful photograph of a wonderful scene. The colors of the ground, the leaves, and the bark add together harmoniously. The little open grove we see in the foreground is set off from the rest of the forest by the fog, letting us believe we are in the forest, alone and close to nature. This would be a terrific picture to make a poster of to look at when things get too stressful; it is so soothing and restful. Thanks for sharing this with us, and do keep on shooting and sharing! mike_long1 0 Posted October 17, 2002 Very nice. Moving slightly to the right might have made the path a bit more interesting, and it may possibly have worked very well in B/W, but overall a lovely shot Link to comment
