drorbaldinger 0 Posted October 16, 2008 i came back to this fine image several times. good composition and nice inner glow, and as i am sure you can tell, i am partial to this kind of images but have you tried lighting the "far edge" of the flower so that the eye travels deeper into the image? corkman 0 Posted October 16, 2008 Thanks Alex and Barbu. Looks can be deceiving Dror. This image has tricked you into thinking it's studio photography with controlled lighting, when in fact it's an outdoor shot with natural lighting, a bright sun is back-lighting it from the side. with the flower actually creating its own shade, and a silhouette of the stamen showing inside. See original I worked with. Link to comment
drorbaldinger 0 Posted October 16, 2008 i have been fooled...like the "natural" one too. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted October 21, 2008 I like a black background with flowers - really makes them artistic and elegant. Great work from the original. Link to comment
watchboximages 0 Posted October 26, 2008 G'day Bill, Thanks for the comments on my Ghent shots. These too are great. Your photography has come a long way for sure, I am most jealous. I was in Belgium to visit Honda Accessories division so luckily work was paying. Yes the night shots in this town are almost too easy to shoot. The only real thing you need to do is pick the time as it has to be after about 9pm (so there is less people) but before about 11.30pm as they shut many of the building feature lights down about then. I will get some more up in the coming week or so. regards gb Link to comment
