Pnina, this is one of my favourite of your images in a long time. I, personally, think the way you captured the light here is wonderful -- the strong light accentuates the arching forms beautifully. The obscuring of the faces allows me to focus on the shape and form, as well as the implicit motion and even the colour without being distracted the individuality of the dancers.

Really a great image Pnina. I love how the two seem suspended in mid-air by the darkness and form such a graphic design.

This image represents well your sense of the moment when capturing the stage. I like that the two figures are involved in a gesture that implies opening up and yet they are caught in a moment in which they are hidden. I also like that there is a strong element of symmetry here without being truly symmetrical. I do not know if this is the result of the choreographer or the particular moment you captured but it works well, somehow making the figures more human and vulnerable.

Cherlyn, thanks for the credit, following and support.

Ruud, hanks as well

Tim, glad you liked it and your kind comment.

Jeff, thanks for referring to the light. Light on the stage is a difficult task, with the experience I have accumulated I look for special points on the stage when the light and the movement has a correlation. My good luck is that I can see a dance several times.....

Jef, thanks as well.Appreciateyour workand your comments.

Marita, long time, glad to see you ! Hugs, I hope you are well and active.

Afshin, thanks you too for your visit and liking.

Ian, thanks for your visit and expressing your impressions. As I have explained before, the light on the stage is very strong on the dancers. As it is a group of dancers, and I have the privilege to see each dance several times, I can find the right moment, imo, the light and movement.

Gord, each scene is an instant of a moment, and has a continuity of a full " phrase". My aim is being alert to the timing , in the middle of movement, and push the shutter to " stop " the continuity when I want it., when the light and movement has significance for me. It is a long dance about an hour, with many parts, and I try to isolate part of the dancers, or all of them ,and than I post process it.. This one is a part of two, the next one is a trio, and later on, only one dancer isolated from the group, so it is my photo "choreography" in Sally Ann Friedland dance choreography. Both of us are happy with our co- production. I'm glad you like it too, and thanks for your wide impression. !

Thanks again to all of you that visited and commented , your impressions are important!

Visually seductive and arresting. You managed to capture the light effectively and the way that the dancers grab the bar with their hands so forcefully is quite contrasting to their opposite hands in their graceful positions.

By necessity I read through the comments rather hastily, but I saw no reference to the boxing ring. I was immediately struck by the resemblance of the ropes they are holding to the ropes that delineate the boxing ring. And their extreme postures as fighter in the denouement of the final rounds of an exhausting battle.

And while I would find a boxing match brutal and inhumane, and have no desire to see such a sight, this is one beautiful image that I could look at for a hell of a long time.

How have you been?

I agree with Emmanuel's reference. It also has a little bit of Michaelangelo's "Creation of Adam." So well timed.

Thanks for you visit today.

Adan, they did many interesting movments and scenes on that bar,...to be continued.....

Emmanuel, the association is a compliment....There is maybe something in it but not really, thanks anyway.

Dave, boxers is another unusual connotation.... but in that dance narrative there are as well signs of violens( in a bar), but there is also a dialogue in the FG movement of the hands and figure.

Joe, thanks, I hope to see new work, connected to new knowledge aquired.....

Incredible piece Pnina. Exquisite light and the dark faces really remove some of the humaness of the forms ...making it an abstract vision of art capturing art. Congrats!

Superb capture Pnina! Your performance shots are excellent, and, I assume, captured using only available light. Very nicely done.

All the best,

Neil

Super composition and light!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The darkness highlights the dancers so well!!! I like the idea of a single image (like this one) for the flyer...

Daily, Paula and Sonali, thanks!

Tiffany, thanks for a nice interpretation, even though it is dancers bodies, it has some abstract in it. Thanks for observing it.

Neil, I work only with available light, no flash, on the contrary I work with underexposure in order to fight the strong stage lights. Thanks for your comment.

Kelvin,my friend, glad to see you again, enjoy your work ,and your comments!
