Sierra Blues

This was taken on a trip to the Sierras to see some fall color with fellow photographer Ed Nunez. This was taken while exploring and looking for fall color near North Lake. I lost my 5D camera to the ocean at Bean Hollow as a rogue wave hit me so hard it knocked me into the ocean and about 10 feet down. A second wave crashed me back onto the rocks and cut me up pretty badly. Needless to say I lost my camera, lens, and bag to the ocean. Ed was nice enough to lend me his backup Nikon D200 for the rest of the trip I waited for the end of day to get last few minutes of warm light. I blended this from three different RAW Exposures. f/16 3 blended Raw exposures ISO 100 Singh-Ray LB Color Combo Thanks for any comments or critiquesThanks for any comments or critiquesCanon 5D 17-40L f/16 Three Bracketed Raw images/Singh-Ray Color Combo

Glad you are OK Kevin. Sorry for your loss. I am headed up this way next week, looks like we might miss some peak colors although no storms are in the forecast. The color is dramatic and spicy. Nice work!

Kevin: Sorry to hear of your accident and loss. That sucks! I'm glad you escaped mostly unscathed. Beautiful image with lovely colors and contrasts. You were lucky to find aspens with this intense orange color.

Beautiful shot.....especially considering it was with a camera you weren't familiar with. Lovely fall colors, and I love the perspective as well. Glad to hear it was only your camera equipment that was lost.....and not you! Pretty traumatic nevertheless, I would imagine. Thanks for sharing!

Very pretty image. Colors in one great harmony, lines nicely lead an eye throughout the picture. Overally, it was a pleasing experience to open and view.

Kevin -- This is drop-dead gorgeous! Just the sweetest, warmest color/light. What a stunning shot,

and such an appealing image. I think I would have just stayed right in that Aspen grove for the duration! I love the "skin" of Aspen bark, and you have it bathed in that luminous apricot jam!

Thanks for sharing. Very sorry to hear of your mishap with the waves. Hope you had continued good stuff for your Sierra trekking. Regards --

Rich

This is the first time for me to see this beautiful picture and your others.  I hope I can learn something from your photos.
