talescaper 0 Posted October 5, 2008 I always have a weak spot for what could be classified as 'Urban decay'. Still, I think there's a lot that could be improved about the composition of this shot. It looks slightly tilted to begin with, this gives the photo a bit of a 'random' feeling to it. I think if you shoot it straight, without any hint of perspective, it will gain a lot cleaner view that might contrast nicely with the chaotic image. Link to comment
le-plume 0 Posted October 14, 2008 Thanks to you two for your appreciation and advice. Sander: you're probably right; I guess what happened is that I started composing the picture with the window right in front of me, and then turned to the right to get more of the wall into the frame. I should have walked one meter to the right instead. Other thing is, that was shot using a wide angle lens (35mm), which I don't use that often, being more of a telephoto photographer. Hence the relative clumsiness... I have another picture taken in the same backstreet, focused solely on one of the windows, but it's on a yet undeveloped roll. I'll post it as soon as I have it. Thank you very much again for your detailed and thoughtful criticism. Link to comment
