gordonjb 10,860 Posted September 25, 2008 Wonderful composition The pattern created by his arms on the body and neck of the instrument in conjunction with the diagonal corner to corner crop works perfectly. The tri-tone back drop, created I am guessing by a piano, adds another dimension which reinforces the lines and shapes. I like the intensity you have caught in his expression as he follows his fingers with his eyes. The instrument itself looks quite beautiful. Link to comment
blue-olympus 0 Posted September 25, 2008 An excellent composition. From the wide strip in the rear to the full diagonal display of the Instrument. I agree you have caught him concentrating fully on his task. I also like the way his arm sits on the bottom of the frame. Great work...Regards Link to comment

viehdoc.lieven 1 Posted September 27, 2008 Beautiful balanced composition! Perfect geometry of lines! Regards! CL Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted September 27, 2008 I love the lines. Not the lute strings, but the lines of his arms, the curve of the lute, the swoop of the background. If this were reduced to a line-drawing without color and texture, it would still be fantastic. This photo has good bones. Adding the color back in adds harmony to an already wonderful melody. michaellinder 16,612 Posted October 7, 2008 Pnina: The shadow on the musician's right cheek ties in with your title. It is as if he is looking into his own soul as he creates the music and hears it. Beuatiful color tones as well. If this is not overly presumptuous of me, L'Shana Tova. May your fast be an easy one. michael Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted October 7, 2008 To all of you! Jim, nice to see you here, we already have a history..... Michael, thanks and SHANA TOVA, UGMAR CHATIMA TOVA ! I think it fits.... Link to comment
Uhooru 2,207 Posted January 22, 2013 Pnina, the lute looks so much like and is so related to the Oud, popular in Iran, Turkey and Egypt especially. The classical and religious oud music is mystical in its beauty. You would get a feel for it in some of the Sephardic music. Do you ever get out for some of the more ethnic musics? Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted January 22, 2013 Yes, there are some music that I like, more Ladino music.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0qN31fKClEEitan Hoffer explained that Teorbo is a kind of combined Lauta and Oud . He is a member of the barrocade ensemble. Thanks Barry. Link to comment
