kahkityoong 0 Posted September 25, 2008 Jasper NP, Alberta, CANADA Evening on an overcast day. The clouds drifted across the mountains throughout the shoot and lifted to reveal this scene. Duotone using PS CS3 with a warming filter. Canon 5D, 16-35mm 2.8L, f14, 6 seconds. Link to comment

iancoxleigh 0 Posted September 26, 2008 Really exceptional and unique. I love the toning in particular. I do like this image as is with the space at the top and I usually hate the call for tighter and tighter crops. But, all that said, I feel you could crop a fair bit of the sky without loss. But the subtle patterns in the cloud layer might come out much better on a full-size image and warrant being kept. I hope this is only the first of a number still to come? Its been a while since we got to admire your landscapes! Link to comment
lonebearimages 0 Posted September 26, 2008 This is really a superb work; and a step up even for you with your terrific skills. To my eye, this is one of your most effective and artistic compositions to date. At first I found myself thinking as Ian did that maybe a crop of some of the sky would benefit the comp. I have convinced myself otherwise though. I think the balance of the image, particularly with the mass of the boat in the FG, demands the retention of that beautifully delicate and wispy sky. There's a lot going on here, but it all is so incredibly harmonious; and the duo-tone treatment is perfect. A very beautiful fine art image, my friend! Cheers! Chris Link to comment

ken_thalheimer 3,739 Posted October 28, 2015 I like this a lot. It has a great feel to it. I think I would make the bottom stronger by cropping some of the sky out. The bottom half is actually where the image is. Good work, though Link to comment
