Golden

Most beautiful rural landscape I've ever seen.

I feel the warmth of the setting sun and the sweet smell of a straw.

 

How could anyone drop a 3/3 bomb on this, especially considering the time and energy it took you to place these bails in this field. Not to mention the truck and trailor you had to rent to transport them to this beautiful scene. The nerve. Simon, all kidding aside, this is glorious!

Simon - I am enjoying this glorious depiction of the final golden rays of light falling on this landscape. The strips of long shadows across the field add texture to this.I'm not altogether comfortable with the tiny bales of hay touching the edge of the main bale, but it's not a deal breaker and I admit is being nitpicky and it has not bothered anyone else. I'm going to check out your wonderful portfolio now. Thanks for sharing.

I can't tell you how many photographs I've seen of this very subject, but seeing yours is like seeing it for the very first time, and it is AMAZING! Lighting, color, composition......what a fantastic sky........I can really FEEL this scene.......beautiful!

I have often walked around a field of straw bales like this, trying to find a composition which works, so I know how difficult it can be. You have achieved an excellent result here with the elements well arranged and beautifully lit with a fabulous sky for good measure. The lighting on the foreground bale makes the image for me. Very well done.

Many thousands of images of hay bales are taken every year and great dissappointment follows when the images are later viewed at home. No dissappointment here, just great elation that that sky was the icing on a very golden cake. Congratulations on your patience and perseverance my friend.
