Good use of low-angle, and wide-angle lens to incorporate elements usually left unnoticed in day-to-day life. Plus, you caught the timing necessary to visual interest in a sports shot like this.

Tough choice on the depth of field, but I would have gone for a little more sharpness in the two players nearest the camera. (Might be depth-of-field, or exposure-related blur, actually.) The (intentionally?) skewed angle works for me (see my portfolio for one example), but it is just close enough to being squared-up that it could seem a little haphazard.

Thanks for sharing your work!

Not surprisingly, adjusting to shooting in low light without a flash is my biggest problem. I'm shooting ISO 1600, f2.8 at 1/250 second. Maybe I should have gone for f4 at a slower shutter speed and eaten more motion blur. Maybe I'm just not holding the camera steady enough. I'm finding that AF isn't all that reliable in this light so I'm pre-focusing, not always correctly. Any tips from old sports-pros here?

I'd suggest buying the 50mm f/1.4. It will allow you to double your shutter speed. Bad DOF, but managable. The lens was $250 last time I checked.
