t_elena 0 Posted September 4, 2008 The Monastery of Curtea de Arges is one of the most famous buildings in Romania. Founded in the time of voivode Neagoe Basarab, between 1512 and 1517, the monastery resembles a very large and elaborate mausoleum, built in Byzantine style, with Moorish arabesques. Inside the church, the visitor’s attention is captured by the mural paintings in oil, made by the French painters F. Nicolle and Ch. Renouard and by the Romanian painter N. Constantinescu from Curtea de Arges, and especially by the group of the 12 columns representing the 12 Apostles. Here are entombed the Romanian kings. Link to comment

maria_di_liegro 0 Posted September 4, 2008 What a beautiful place, Elena, which you have captured so well! The color and light is "heavenly." The amount of detailed you've got in this shot is impressive. It does lean a bit to the right, and if you fixed that, your photo would be absolutely superb, in my opinion.
