Margo_Wade11664880111 0 Posted September 2, 2008 Same photo as before but with less saturation. Which one is better? Link to comment
kathyb 72 Posted September 3, 2008 This one is good but I prefer the one with more color to show off their beautiful blonde hair. Link to comment

frankphoto 0 Posted February 19, 2010 Dear Margo, I just love this one...priceless expressions, sharp as a pin and excellent exposure. And it works equally well in black and white. Butttttt! You have chopped off the top of the head of the girl on the left. Naughty Nanny Wade...ten minutes in the bold corner for you ! You will need to watch your framing Margo.....it's perhaps the weakest part of your photo skills. And on a more subjective note, I feel the composition would be improved had you placed the girls a little more to the right of the frame...there is a sort of left hand bias to he composition which would perhaps be improved in this way. IMHO.STILL AND ALL I THINK IT'S A STUNNER...WELL DONE MARGO ( isn't it just fantastic being a grandparent...I just love it) Best regards to the Wade clan,GRANDDAD FRANK. Link to comment

Matthew Brennan 3 Posted January 8, 2011 This is an excellent image despite the out of frame head - nevermind, perfection will come with practice. I'd also like to see the tiny finger tip lost out of frame too - hands are a crucial part of human expression. More important is that you have excellent timing, truly beautiful candid moments like this I find very, very difficult to time just so. I'm a very poor portrait photographer but I do know fine work when I see it. I prefer the B&W version, it will become more endearing as time passes than the coloured version IMHO. Link to comment
Margo_Wade11664880111 0 Posted January 8, 2011 Thanks, Matthew. It was a lucky moment, caught with a bounce flash off a low ceiling, which provided a nice light. I'm not sure that the whole head needs to be captured in a portrait image. I love visiting the National Portrait Gallery here in Canberra and one of the things I look for is how the image is composed. There are many excellent images captured by camera and in paint with the top of the head omitted. Of course, with photography, what's intended and what's presented may not necessarily be the same thing! :) Link to comment
