RickDB 10 Posted September 2, 2008 Penguin chicks everywhere at Brown Bluff where 20,000 pairs of Gentoo and Adele penguins reside. Quite a sight (and smell!). Link to comment

leora 3 Posted March 14, 2010 This is a great consolation for all the hardship the penguins have surviving in Antartica. Did you fly there yourself? And how long did you stay? Is it melting like the north pole? Nice work, Leora Link to comment
RickDB 10 Posted March 17, 2010 I went down to Antarctica by ship, a two day journey across the treacherous Drake Passage - flying in my little plane was not an option - no where to land or refuel! The Antarctic Peninsular is warming very rapidly as a result of climate change but the massive ice cap is not badly effected yet - if it does melt it will put much of Florida under water! I went there at the beginning of December, and the first penguin chicks had just arrived - I think January would be even better for seeing them. Cheers, RickDB Link to comment
