Anita I have never been there, however, my coworker murry was always talking about it because he was born very close to it. Wow I have not think of him and his teaching in long time, this image is worth a Thousand THANKS!!!

Love this image, Anita. My parents met in Coney Island (working for the gas company). My father, a New York City fireman, grew up on nearby Gravesend Bay and I was born in Bay Ridge. Although I was raised on the eastern end of Queens, I have deep roots in Brooklyn (went to high school at Brooklyn Tech in the Fort Green section). Earlier this morning I was "surfing the net" about the Coney Island redevelopment controversy. Are you familiar with the "Forgotten-NY" website? It has lots of photos and information about Coney Island's past glory. All the best...Bill 6/6
