That is really very good, the silhouette of this fisherman in front of the sun are in perfect harmony, wonderful. I can't give you what you deserve the system don't allow me to rate it beyond of what I gave. Congratulations and thank you for sharing it. best regards.

Simple but effective. That looks like Henry Fonda in his last film On Golden Pond. This would be nice even with the sun just set into the horizon...it is a silhouette that lots of folks have forgotten works so well in conveying mood...aloha, gs

I'm sorry but did you photoshop this picture? It's a great shot but I think the fisherman and the ground he is standing on is too dark. The water foreground is very illuminated. This makes my eyes believe that the fisherman and the ground shouldn't be pitch black. Plus the edges that meet the water are too sharp and jagged (contrasted detail). Otherwise the shot is great!

The silhouette is a bold outline and I can't see it working better if there were more detail in the subject. It would actually take flash to balance the sun and there is little time, maybe minutes to get a scene like this, right. This is how I see things illuminated against a setting sun here in alohaland anyway:-0. EV difference between the sun in twilight and the figure which seems t be just proportional enough to be not too overpowering and not too underwhelming in scenic value if I make my point..... The luminous nature of water is how I see water looks just at this magic moment.-The cap and rucksack elements are nice to have too when I examine it closer It would be fun to see size variations and exposure variations as a learning tool I agree, but I think you nailed this one, m'sieu.

I can understand your vision of this shot.Sometime you have no time to think about all those details..for this image i ran down to the beach knowing that something great was happening.I knew that i had a short period af time before the sun lost is majesty. It came out good.I had a blast!!!

I used a 120-300mm F2.8 to shoot from few hundred feet.

Thanks to you Gerry from Honolulu....Marc
