bosshogg 4 Posted August 24, 2008 They are indeed just a bunch of matches, but you've given them quite a stage. Your focus is excellent as is the color palette. The light seems spot on. Very nice. Link to comment
peter_daalder 0 Posted August 25, 2008 To Michael, David, Mujahid and Klara. Thanks for having a closer look and leaving your comments.I'd like to pull back and show the entire box of matches. As you can see, on this occasion, they are not arranged so nicely. Before the original shoot, I had to do a fair amount of shaking and tapping, to align the matches in a satisfactory manner.Light source was daylight coming through a window at 90 degrees to the subject. Exposure was 1/2 second at f22 and an ISO of 100. The natural shadow towards the back, originated from the top of the matchbox. Link to comment
peter_daalder 0 Posted August 25, 2008 Cheers, Brenda.Apart from the original Redheads, it was also my intention to make mention of the Dickheads. They have been a favourite of mine for a number of years now... :) Link to comment
peter_daalder 0 Posted August 25, 2008 Thanks Ahmet and Borna! Some of you may be interested in the other part of procuring this image; the 30-year old equipment, in the shape of the Canon Bellows and FLM 100mm 1:4 Bellows lens...My 'ancient' DSLR (EOS Rebel - 300D) was mounted on this combo, via the use of an FD to EF adaptor. Thanks again, everyone! MichaelChang 12 Posted September 10, 2008 A macro with personality. :-) I have a similar setup that hasn't been used in years, now I'm inspired. FYI, Pete, there exists DoF extending software under GNU Public License. CombineZP is one, here's another, and these pictures (with a similar setup as yours) were made with Helicon Focus which is a commercial software. These can also be used for landscape work to achieve infinite DoF. Link to comment
