dacamera 0 Posted August 15, 2008 Sunset in the Western Isles. All comments appreciated. Link to comment
johnhamilton 0 Posted August 15, 2008 I like it very much. The rocks seem increadibly sharp. Is this real or have you used rather a lot of unsharp mask? (not a criticism; if you have, I rather like the effect.) Link to comment
blue-olympus 0 Posted August 15, 2008 Hi Simon..this shot is really incredible..congratulations on this super effort! Link to comment
paul_woloschuk1 0 Posted August 15, 2008 I like the composition and treatment on this shot Simon. It's so easy to see a sunset with the eye, yet when you look at your image later, you find you've burned-out the sun. This looks just fine. Paul Link to comment

vicenteconcha 8 Posted August 15, 2008 Sensational composition. Fantastic light in stone from the foreground. A landscape to enjoy. Congratulations. Vicente. Link to comment
stuart_bellamy 0 Posted August 15, 2008 Beautiful! Strong composition and good use of the water movement to create lines into the photo. The rocks are reflecting some good light and overall a very well balance image. Another 7/7 from me. Well done! Link to comment
Not Here 93 Posted August 15, 2008 Wonderful detail, a full, rich sunset with expressive clouds and the fluid motion of the waves... just perfect! Mike Link to comment
dacamera 0 Posted August 15, 2008 Thanks for the comments everyone. John, I haven't sharpened this anymore than any of my other pictures, maybe I got this one just right! Simon Link to comment
llgarcia 1 Posted August 16, 2008 Amazing FG sharpness and lighting. With a dramatic background, image is just outstanding. Congrats! - Lester Link to comment
lonebearimages 0 Posted August 16, 2008 This is truly enchanting! Frankly, and no offense meant, the sky is the least interesting part of this image to my eye. The point-of-view and perspective in the FG construction is sublime and virtually stands as an image in its own right. In fact, I'd be real tempted to crop this down from the top to just a hair above the rounded mountain on the right side. Just my two-cents though. Aptly titled as well. Well seen and captured, Simon. Cheers! Chris Link to comment
thadley 15 Posted August 16, 2008 I am totally aligned with Chris' comment - by the way a beautiful image. Link to comment
iancoxleigh 0 Posted August 16, 2008 I agree with Chris H., this is a stunning photograph and the foreground could not be better in any way. But, the sky is lacking and I would like less of it to help keep my eye down in the more exciting rocks and surf patterns. However, I wouldn't take quite as much as Chris. I think there is a natural break just above the two thunder-clouds on the right edge. Link to comment
agusti 1 Posted August 16, 2008 Una imagen dinamica y bella con una gran luz. Saludos. Link to comment
dacamera 0 Posted August 16, 2008 Thanks for the comments everyone. Chris & Ian. To be honest I never even considered a crop like that but I can see that it would work. I will do some serious experimenting. Simon Link to comment

johnroberts 0 Posted August 18, 2008 Wonderful exousure and timing, I like the flow of the sea around the foreground rock and then taking the eye into the heart of the image. A superb low light composition of the higfhest order. Regards, John Link to comment
scotpicture 0 Posted August 20, 2008 Wonderful as only the Isles can be, super image. Donny Link to comment
pcakl 0 Posted February 10, 2009 Hi Simon, that`s a wonderful shot!!! May I ask you what`s the focus point ? The rock in the foreground or in the background ? As I`m still finding way how to get sharp images like this one. Regards,Pavel Cakl Link to comment
