I captured this image while covering a house fire in Woonsocket, RI at 2:30AM The child was found by this firefighter hiding in a burning room with minor burns.

This photo was shot through thick smoke in the pitch black night from about 100 feet away, which explains the "blur". Then again, isn't it the content that matters?

And I like this picture. Maybe the smoke would give a better overall feel... this looks like the fireman is playing with the baby and she doesn't want to :) Good shot!

My heart stopped when I saw this picture. When I was that childs age I was severely burned in a house fire...I often wondered what kinds of emotions were going on during the whole thing...this picture really does say a thousand words. Great Job.

Although there's a nice moment here, the flash ruins this for me. I understand shooting fires at night, I usually stay away from using the strobe unless it's absolutely necessary. Sometmes dialling down your strobe helps keep the glare from being so harsh.
