Ravi Coltrane's Bassist at a show at the Iridium in NYC. Ravi is John Coltrane's son, for those that don't know. 1/60 at 1.4, no flash (they probably would have kicked me out, lol). Printed on Ilford multigrade pearl (not my favorite but it's all I can get around here). Would love to know what you think.: ) Aurore

it's good. I like the starkness. A little tightly cropped on the right side and his face doesn't appear as sharp as the bass but on the whole a pretty striking image.

Pretty darn good for a live shot :)

would have been nice to see a leg/foot.. but i suppose they didn't have a spot light pointed there :)

I think the composition is great in this photo. I like the lighting on the hands and base. Pity there's a shadow on the lower half of his face, but not much you could do about that. Don't be afraid to get kicked out of places, though, haha
