sking 0 Posted August 6, 2008 Richard, I like this photo a lot. I like the lighting you've used which, though soft, still gives the face modeling and makes it look three dimensional. I especially like the subtle but effective catchlight in the woman's left eye. I think that one detail makes the photo a cut above others. Well done. 6/7 Link to comment
ricardovaste 0 Posted August 7, 2008 Steve, I would like to thank you for taking the time to reply to my request for critique. Also thank you for your kind encouraging words :). I'm particularly natural with portraits, but am trying to develop my skills and this is my recent most attempt that I was quite happy with. I say "portrait" it was a rather candid circumstance, there was no pose requested, this was a very natural situation. She was just just rather tired and so rested her head on my pillow for a short time and i took a few snaps. I will keep the catch light in mind next time. I always try to pay attension to lighting, but I guess this is really important if you want your subject to have that life in there eyes. Thanks again, Rich Link to comment
