tonmestrom 4 Posted August 11, 2008 mystery, drama it's all there and while she may be a little "soft" it does add to the overall mood. It would be a great cover for a Agatha Christie book. But I must say that a slightly tighter crop and some perspective control would even enhance that in my opinion Link to comment
joe-tury 0 Posted August 11, 2008 This reminds me of Mr. Goldsmith's latest, a human form partially emerging from darkness. Eve with a modern twist. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted August 11, 2008 Thanks Ton, for expressing your point of view. Always ready to hear, sometime I accept and sometime not....;-)) Joe, look at the next one too, Maybe Mr. Goldsmith came with me to the dance center in Tel Aviv ..... thats why there is a similarity? LOL..Thanks Link to comment
adan1 0 Posted August 12, 2008 The classic movie "Three Faces of Eve" comes to mind when I looked at your composition. The subject's deep pensive mood and the three faces looking at her create a provocative link. Do the faces represent an aspect of self reflection? You titled this "The Myth..." and I would love to read your interpretation of this visually fascinating piece Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted August 13, 2008 Thanks for your nice and correct interpretation and question. Yes my thought was self reflection of the woman development from the Genesis story ( hinted by calling it " The myth") and the way till nowaday. The 3 faces when you look at them, the lower one is very blurred, the middle a bit less and the upper has nearly a full face, the 3 faces of Eve as a symbol/ woman in general all along the history. The ambiguity as well is intentional,, as each viewer will interepret it according to his understanding. Yours was to the point Adan, thanks for asking.....( still there is a lot more to do in creating for women the full and right status in society;-)) Link to comment
adan1 0 Posted August 13, 2008 Thanks Pnina. The road might be long but at least we are walking towards it. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted August 14, 2008 I'm back! I don't have much of a profound comment, but do find it immensely appealing. There is darkness, and there is life's color mixed with the abstract monochrome. There seems to me to be a lot of interpretive alternatives, and I would think that is exactly what you would want. pnital 36 Posted August 14, 2008 So glad to see you back, I hope you have solved what had to be solved. Thanks for your always a genuin point of view that I like reading. btw, I'm still "wrestling" with Dawkins.....he is so profond, and I savour him slowly.... Link to comment
