birteragland 1 Posted August 3, 2008 Exposure, light, dof ect is excellent. The portal is too centralized, move it to one side or the other, the rules of a good composition is, never position min object smack in the middle.Other than that its very nice...cheers fra danske Birte Link to comment
birteragland 1 Posted August 3, 2008 It does not deserve a rating of 3/3, ridiculous. Link to comment
danbliss 0 Posted August 3, 2008 I appreciate Birte,'s comment on composition, and I would usually agree, but I think such rules are made to be broken. Here, I think you made a good choice. It is a strong composition. I think centering the column implies some sort of strength, which works will mixed with the overall isolation of the scene. The texture of the rocks are great too. It is a very pleasing image. Nicely done. Dan Link to comment
lars_brorson_fich 0 Posted August 3, 2008 Thank you Birte and Dan for your comments. About the composition; My personal opinion is that the rules of composition are rules, and not laws. That of course leaves one with the question when to use them, and when to break them. Normally I am very found of the golden section, but in this case I thought that some kind of “monumentalism” was appropriate. I am very happy to have your comments on whether I was right or wrong in doing so - Photo.net would be more useful with more comments like that – so thanks again. About the ratings – aren’t they often rather ridiculous ? Re. Lars ……..og Birte – det er jo altid hyggeligt at støde på en landsmand. Link to comment
