rascal64 9 Posted August 4, 2008 Doug...Ana and Joaquim...Thank you. I appreciate your time and thoughts. This was an exciting shoot for me. I learned (and am learning) a great deal because of it. I will post quite a few more. I hope that you can come back and visit! Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted August 4, 2008 It looks like you are experimenting around with lighting, soft focus, and that hazy effect. There's a great delicacy you've brought to this and it goes well with her dreamy eyes and even her hair and the whiteness and softness of her dress. I'm curious to hear what you learned from this shoot. Those are the best shoots and photos, ones I learn from. The only thing I wonder about here is whether you tried easing up on the depth of the shadow on her face at all. Considering the look you seem to be going for, it feels like may just a slightly gentler shadow could work. But you've certainly got a nice range of tonalities here and you've maintained the integrity of the whites quite nicely. Link to comment
rascal64 9 Posted August 4, 2008 Hi Fred....Well....let me tell ya'. First thing that I am learning. This is my second shoot with an african american. After combing through all 80 of my choice shots of her...I think that I can say that I can light darker skinned clients/models correctly (yipee!)...which I learned on PN. Second thing that I am learning....read all about it at http://photo.net/digital-darkroom-forum/00QMai. Yes...this is a total experimental piece. Most of the others in the shoot are pretty straightforward. But there was a certain style for the shoot that I was trying to achieve and I think I did it. I hope that you can cruise by my other posts from this session as they come up. I always value your honesty and input. Link to comment

soniam 6 Posted December 3, 2008 I am usually not a fan of soft focus portraits but with this effect and mood, it works perfectly! Superb! Link to comment
