The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) or World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations. Its official mission is to stimulate creativity and economic development by promoting an international system of intellectual property, in particular by fostering cooperation between states. Its headquarters is located in Geneva, Switzerland. Its Director-General since 1997 is Dr. Kamil Idris (Sudan), who makes his second mandate for a period of 6 years. It employs 850 staff in over 85 countries. His predecessors were Offices met for Intellectual Property (BIRPI, founded in 1893), then responsible for administering the Berne Convention on the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works, which met the needs of entrepreneurs to ensure exclusivity their discoveries and inventions abroad. WIPO was founded in 1967 by the signing in Stockholm of a convention by its member states. They were behind the number 51, including Germany, USA, the Soviet Union (the Russian Federation has since renewed that commitment), the United Kingdom and Switzerland, but not France ( who will join them only in 1974, when WIPO will become an integral part of the UN).

They are 192 since the accession of Montenegro, December 4, 2006.

Yes ... the taste is very relative, after all and fortunately, because that push us toward diversity and it provides a wealth of the exchange and sharing! Thank you for your time.
