This is a beautiful photograph, however, I feel that the bush/tree on the bottom left of the frame gets in the way and detracts from the rest of the image.

I think more tight cropping would improve this photo - the foreground (bushes and the slope) are slightly disturbing.

I can't say nothing in front of this incredible scene. Right light, good air transparency, optimum color saturation (aka exposition). Have you cropped original shot? If yes, at bottom?

A grand view. Composition works well, me eyes start at the tre that leads me to the volcanos, going back to the right foreground, and to the tree again... Well done!

I disagree with the comment against the bush in the picture. I think it is wisely placed and adds a very interesting touch of color. Something close to the camera makes the image deeper.

Very good landscape, I also like the way you cropped it to scape from the 2:3 35mm film proportion.

A well executed image of a popular location - you did well to get both Bromo and Batok (?) blowing at the same time - I don't recall Bromo blowing at all when I was there. Thanks for bringing back a happy memory.

Fabulous image ! The colors and the light are absolutely outstanding. The hill in the foreground on the right is the only thing I don't quite like, but I guess you couldn't move it.

Originality ratings will soon be gone, and I'm glad about it, really. How can this be rated low in originality ? Easy to understand - it's just another picture of a volcano. But let's compare volcano pictures with volcano pictures, and then suddenly this appears to actually be original. The alignment of volcanoes is, the clous at the bottom are... I'm sad to see such good pictures disappear in a day. This deserves more visibility on the site. Not perfect, but a really great image nevertheless - and another victim of the originality rating...

Thanks for all your comments !

Yes, I cropped the photo at the bottom, otherwise there would have been even more green hill in the foreground.

....and Marc is right, everything of this photo is "original", even the smoke of the vulcanos !

Mt. Bromo is an "all-time"-smoker, but "Mahameru" in the back blew only every 15 minutes !

Overall, a very nice photo. However, I feel the bush actually detracts from the depth of this photo. Without it, the cloud filled valley would form a splendid curve leading the eye from right, then left and back right into the depths of the photo and towards the highest volcano. Regardless, the bush's red flowers look out of place in the surrounding landscape.

The hill in the foreground in this respect works: being a highlight it attracts the eye to the valley and starts the process. I wonder if it was possible for the photographer to walk a few paces to the right and eliminate the bush?

I like most the beautiful colors of the image.

And for my taste the bush in the lower left corner is needed for the composition of the picture. If you remove it, the image would not be "complete".

You've taken full advantage of this great photo op. Congratulations to you. I wish we had volcanoes in Victoria!
