I really like the abstract design and the colors. Slight unsharp mask

(for this low res jpeg only), no croping, no filter, f22, late

afternoon sun.

i loved this one so much, it represents very much what i strive for, that is: beautiful image, great composition and flow, and it is something we all watch but only you saw!

congratulations!

I did what I could to acheive maximal sharpness: sturdy tripod, remote, mirror lock, iso 100 film, no crop or blowout, low wind and very good optic (all macro lens have very high MTF scores). To get a good DOF I used f22, so it is possible that image quality was degraded by difraction (macro photography is all about compromises). I know also that at this resolution and with file compression (JPEG) I lost a bit of sharpness from my original scan, especially if you look at the medium sized image. For a more realistic evaluation one as to look at the large image on photo.net as all the other images are an approximation of the original.

*** I saw recently that my scan was not as sharp as it should be (I dont have a dedicated negative scanner but the 2450 Epson flatbed), I will try to improve and replace the jpeg with a better one.

An all around excellent photo. I like the section of the flower you chose...it gives us a little bit of everything, and really gets that spiral working, too. This is a shot for the portfolio, I think. Good work!

Lovely picture, delicate graded colours.Sharpness does not necessarily add to the aesthetics. Congrats for a lovely pattern picture.

I used a different technique to improve sharpness: I made a duplicate effect layer with High Pass @ 10 pixels and I applied Soft Light at 50% transparency while playing with the levels in the High Pass effect layer. This gives me better results than using unsharp.

Now this picture is better, but still it is only a small JPEG... You should see my 8x10 print... ;-)
