Is this a good (whatever that means) portrait? I'm wondering if the

right eye is too fuzzy for it to be viable (because of DOF) or whether

it still works. Let me know your thoughts and/or suggestions for

improvement. All comments and critiques would be appreciated.

I don't find the eye a problem at all. To me, it's a very viable and nice portrait. The lighting is very beautiful and his gaze toward it gives him the right energy. His eyes are lovely as is his expression. You've created some depth with the background and with the dof. My guess is that if the eye bothers you, you could help it along a little with a bit of contrast adjustment just to the eye and perhaps a bit of sharpening too, but I don't think it's much of a problem.
