philip_mcshane 0 Posted September 20, 2002 You have a subject with a mass of detail in high colour. I think you have to ask yourself: "how do I make a picture of it?" You need to look for striking form: maybe a single bloom would have stronger visual impact. If your subject is the person in this context, again you have to look for ways of creating greater visual impact. Maybe you should think about photos or photographers (or artists) that you really like--and then ask: how do they do it? So I see this as a colorful picture, but weak in form and composition. nomade 1 Posted October 9, 2002 I think this should be bigger, there's too much detail here to show it in such a small format. Also I would try to slow down contrast a bit, there are some overexposed areas on the floor; also I would correct the apparent yellow cast, possible undesireable consequence of tungsten lights. I basically like the compositional idea (makes me remember some of Gurky's shots), maybe in this case you need some object on the very foreground to accentuate the sense of perspective.
