sonneland 0 Posted June 27, 2008 Gordon, these are the sort of images that I like to find, elusive, mysterious. A journey where words are left behind. Well done! All the best........roger oh, what just a tincy wee bit of backlighting could have added!! Link to comment
dougolsen 1 Posted June 27, 2008 Surreal and stunning. Marvelous idea and technique. Well Done!!!! Link to comment

sherle 0 Posted June 28, 2008 Like the finest satin in the most elegant setting! You found and created a rare beauty in this image, the type of image I aspire to. There is just something so soft and ethereal in the lines and the folds, yet a little saucy in the flip of the petal. Outstanding image! .....Sherle Link to comment
mark_q 0 Posted June 29, 2008 Seems like the gentle summer breeze has cooled your head and mind to put the experimental ideas to a rest. No problemo as long you deliver such an ethereal delightful gem like this: I really cherish the dreamy softness with just a dash of sharper details here and there, all this served in delicious colors. Yummie! Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted June 29, 2008 Very poetic, like two worlds upper and lower touching each other, A soft touch, both soaking in the white /yellow sunny color. The upper part a hint of a flower sending a "hand" toward the lower part , which hints again of a wide leaf that is ready to accept. Separate and still together. Even I like your work and follow it, from time to time you surprise me with a real poetic creation....;-)) Link to comment
jbidarra 0 Posted June 29, 2008 Delicate image, the soft focus, the smooth colors, make this shot a very beautiful one. Regards Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted July 10, 2008 How does one capture softness? Look here. Really, the epitome of delicacy. Georgia O'Keeffe would be proud. The detail of the veins, the lush softness of the petals, the shape, sense of composition, depth of focus all expertly rendered. One to be proud of and get lost in. More a meditation than a story. gordonjb 10,860 Posted July 15, 2008 The Owl; Thanks for the comment. Roger; You know how much I admire your work with flowers. I did bounce a bit of light back up into the upper petals with a reflectors not a real lot, but it works for me the way it is. Thanks so much for your comment. Doug; Thanks for kind the words and glad you liked this one. Ryan; Nice to hear from you. I too felt this was all about the lines and curves. Sherle; What a lovely description. I hope this was the one you had referred to at the bottom of my portfolio. Markku; Those summer breezes only blow for a short while around here, as I imagine is also the case in Finland. I am still experimenting, I have just not been spending much time in doors at the computing processing the results. Pnina; I love your description, it seems far more poetic than my image. Joachuim; Thanks for taking the time to comment I appreciate your thoughts. Liz; Thanks. I cannot take credit for the title. Butter & Eggs was the name of that particular cultivar of Siberian Iris, I swiped the name off of the plant tag :-) Andrea; I am glad you felt the sense of mystery that I wanted to convey. Thanks for your thoughts. Manuel; Thanks and regards to you. Fred; When I set out to create this style of image I am trying to find a place of meditation, someplace soft and still and silent, rather than a linear plot or story. Thanks for letting me know that this is how it comes across to you. Link to comment
bretsch 0 Posted July 16, 2008 Softness is the key, indeed, but let us not forget about the truthfulness of colors. They give it that something that is needed to wrap up this beautiful essay of yours.....peaceful it is! Link to comment
