Inner sanctum + Intersection = Inner Section ? Some sort of internal subdivision ? I wonder if it is actually supposed to mean something ? This looks like a church that could deceive, even someone as allergic to whorship as myself , into wandering in looking for a cappaccino and a pastry :-)

All kidding about fruitcakes and their own little corners of heaven aside, this is a well composed and visually pleasing image. I agree that if you were to print this the air conditioners could easily be cloned out and I do not think they would be missed.

I can't believe you would sell out for a cappuccino and a pastry. I hang in for at least two pastries before entering the kingdom. :)

It probably won't come as surprise that I enjoy very much this photo by the geometric plays going on as well by the over all balanced composition. Those yellow lines vs curls of the climbing plant, not to forget that bird. What bugs me slightly is the whiteness of the facade. Maybe it's just your intention, kinda the light of salvation were radiating from this peculiar church?

Thanks for your thoughts. Actually I rather like the extreme whiteness and wish it had extended to the area left of the window on the left side. and at the far right too. It is is result of the diffuse glow filter.

I like the starkness of the scene and, of course, the signature geometry that the lines in the parking lot create. You do have a knack for these kinds of scenes . . . obviously, and this is a really nice addition to your portfolio. I think it's the primary color combination that works so well and I think that's why the white you've chose to enhance is appropriate and a creative touch. At the same time, it still feels overprocessed to me. I think, had you maintained the texture of the blacktop all the way through, so that it didn't get quite so black in the corners, that would have helped the overall feeling. My eye is also distracted by the fact that the building does have texture in the more shadowed areas (all the way to the left under the awning and in the lower right corner and over the doorway and center windows). That processing remnant calls attention to itself and feels off. I like that you've left a hint of the sky and roof at the top. Just that little bit gives context and a little more interest for the eye. All in all, a great David Meyer scene.

It is over processed. No doubt about it. But it kind of reflects my feeling about religion. If that stuff isn't over processed and disgustingly pandered, then I don't know what is. So I mimicked religiosity. I quite agree with you about the coarser white areas. I don't think I have the time or the skill to turn them into that pristine shiny pure white of most of the walls. But you are right that it would be a better image for it. My point was that it is supposed to look goofy, because this stuff (churches, religion, evangelism, etc.) is goofy. Or at least it would be if it weren't so damn dangerous.

David, this is a very interesting and provoking picture. Near the college where I work there is a supermarket that has been converted into a church. Now, that is thinking big. ;)

I like your perspective of this shot and appreciate your personal comments about the subject to "enlighten" us. The presence of the bird adds a humorous touch and the piece of paper on the pavement to the left adds an ironic one for me. Perhaps it is a winning lottery ticket on the floor.

You've got a sharp eye man. I did not even notice the winning lottery ticket. If I had, I surely would have picked it up. :) Thanks for your appreciation of the image.

By the time I looked at this picture, just about everything had been said. The only thing I might add is that piece of paper may not be a lottery ticket. It might be someones lost ticket to heaven! Good shot. M

Thanks for your visit. That could just be a leftover cruller that the bird of paradise is eying. Hell, maybe he's in heaven now.

a precise compo supported by the color and treatment...there is a tension in this image that I find very interesting....I am attracted to look at the red (wood) door as something will happen...the "church" sign participate to the mood as it does not really look like a church...

I am late on this....better late than never...

Absolutely better late than never. I sometimes feel that anything older than our most current three might as well be deleted because so few people look beyond that. The new random image generator on everyone's page is a good thing. I know I've gone to check out an image more than once because I saw it on that side panel.

This was uploaded while you were in pretty scarce supply. I'm not surprised that you like it. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
