Spring Blossoms II

The original composition was weak, so I had to crop out some of the surrounding elements.

I managed a trip to the desert while it was in bloom. This was cropped

from the original.

This is my favorite of the three new uploads, by far. The sky is dramatic (you know how I love a dramatic sky!) and the colors in the foreground are wonderful. You had nice lighting to avoid harsh shadows and still have the nicely colored scene.

Lou Ann: Thanks again for stopping by. The sky was something else that day and all I had to do was wait a few minutes to either have full sun, part sun, or complete shade. I have no idea what the name of that flowering plant is in the foreground - I suppose I should do some research - but it was about chest high seemed pretty fragile.

Jim: The colors in this area are a bear to duplicate accurately. I took a gray card but was not professional enough to shoot it... Thanks for stopping by.

Great sky and colours in this wonderful landscape. I find I'm craving a tiny bit more space on the left, or perhaps alternatively the pillar could be cropped down the centre to "tidy up" the left edge . Still very nice as it is though. And I look forward to viewing more or your work.

Hi Dominique, it is good to hear from you and thanks for taking time to analyze this image. I just returned from my sister's wedding in Oregon and have not had time to do much photography. I've posted the original for you to see what I was thinking. The formation on the left seemed much too dominant to be kept in the photo and gave the viewer two focal points, which was a big distraction. I cropped the left side in an attempt to accent the plant in front. From what you are telling me, it didn't work. Thanks again for stopping by.
