davidmccracken 2 Posted June 6, 2008 It's good to see someone having fun with a camera. I am not quite sure where the focus is but it doesn't seem to be on the face. This is a pity. Maybe using a self timer instead of a remote release would have been better. That way you wouldn't have the cable in the photo. That said, the cable does add to the fun aspect of the image. catherinevankempen 0 Posted June 6, 2008 I was shooting with a 4x5 camera, I would like to reshoot this series with a 35 mm, just to make the focusing easier. When you look at the neg the focus is on the jumble of stuff on the desk. Oh well, shoot and learn. Thanks for your comments though. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted June 8, 2008 I agree that there is a sense of fun here, but for me, there's a bit of the surreal going on as well, regardless of whether that was the intent or not.The furniture and other objects are normal every day things, but when coupled with the nude and exaggerated pose, it all just doesn't seem to fit...it looks a bit odd...which is why the shot totally works for me.I would be interested in knowing what camera, lens, and film you used for this shot. I would also encourage you to continue with the 4x5, rather than switching to 35mm.I think this is an excellent shot/composition, and excellent black and white work. Link to comment
pbajzek 0 Posted June 8, 2008 Weird (in a good way) and hilarious. I think the map on the wall is very important as it enhances what I *think* is a travel/exploration theme. Anyway, great photograph. Link to comment
