A NEAR PERFECT PLANETARY ALIGNMENT CIRCA 2008

So nice to be back and notice how dear PN fellows are delivering goods. I applaud for your willingness to present us this kind of photos too. You should know by now me appreciating minimalistic style. My first take on this was a detail of seams and bolts on a giant sphere with a hammered surface. Then I saw the original... and won't hurt your feelings. Yes, it's fun to be creative, not being so damn purist like yours truly ;-)

since we've established some time ago that I'm more of a rationalist than you are (how's that for an understatement) it won't surprise you that I, unlike Gordon, am not impressed with that posterization although somehow it seems to fit with this out of this world image. Still, I like your concept and that's why I have made a different version just to tickle your mind a bit so you might look at it from a differnet angle. So before you lift off ;-) you might want to throw a look at this one...

Thank you for being so open minded. I'm not always so good at that myself, so I'm very appreciative of your willingness to not only look at the blasted thing, but to leave a comment. I will say that in its own way it is minimalist. Perhaps we shall call it, "Busy Minimalism." Ha! I like that.

thanks. But that was not the point as I implied in my earlier comment. It's only meant to be different. Yours is still "connected" to this world while mine was really out into space. But by applying some grain and playing a bit with the sat rulers you could get rid of those posterization lines while keeping your original concept. I wouldn't want to change that. It's still your photo, although it looks you where high at the time ;-) Now beam me up, Scotty

Iniatally i thought this wassome kind of satatlite veiw of african coast ... heheheheh well done , to subtly change an image to creating the effect of an entirly differnt image well done !
