lonebearimages 0 Posted May 14, 2008 This could be your finest black and white to date! The tonal range is fantastic; and some really excellent contrasts too. Look at your composition; perfect use of the rule of thirds (not that that is supremely critical), and the image flows from fore to aft; and you have a dynamite sky. To me, the crowning touch is the catch of the snow-clad peak in the Panamint Range in the distance. No nits on this one. This is really superb, Christal; and one of your best landscapes! Well done! Cheers! Chris When it is available for rating, I'll be back! Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted May 14, 2008 Stunning. The textured hills work perfectly with the rippled sky. The tones are nicely done. That brighter patch on the foremost hill almost looks lit by a spotlight. In all, a fantastic photo. Link to comment
Christal1664882414 0 Posted May 14, 2008 Why thank you, gentlemen! You made my morning. Now I'll bounce off to work with a bit more pep in my step. And I'm quite excited. I'll be having lunch and spending some time today with a famous photographer. The brother of my orchestra's maestro flew in from Europe and will be on stage taking photographs of the musicians....as he says, 'trying to make us look as good as we sound'. Now I'm going to go and submit this for a rating. Frankly, I've never even noticed that there was no 'rating' tab for my photos. I didn't realize that you could ONLY get a rating by submitting a photo for critique. Oh well....you learn something every day! :) Link to comment

whydangle 0 Posted May 21, 2008 Hi Christal. This one caught my eye instantly when I came to visit. The lighting is superb. I love the brighter area in the middle, this is what pulls me into the frame. Exceptional rendition of the badlands at Zabriskie Overlook. Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 285 Posted May 26, 2008 One of the best landscapes I've seen lately and I've seen hundreds of them! The B&W works so good here! Everything is so nice and unusual! Read original! PDE Link to comment

lizweisiger 0 Posted May 31, 2008 This is an amazing image. Such clear detail in the undulations, and fabulous tonal range. I like the distant snow cap lit up. Link to comment
rbanfield 0 Posted January 17, 2009 Better late than never. Just re-discovered your black and white folio and had to leave a comment on a couple of them. Your conversion skills are leaping skyward! Lots of tonal range in this shot and the composition rocks. Congrats on a wonderful capture.6/6...RAY Link to comment
