amitai schwartz 0 Posted May 7, 2008 Because the clouds are totally blown out and distract from an otherwise captivating image, I would suggest cropping just above the tree line and I think you will have a colorful, nicely saturated photo. Link to comment
bill_pador 0 Posted May 7, 2008 Even before I saw the above critique I was thinking the same thing about the blown out clouds. What a shame they got blow out so much, either a better crop of possibly doing some burning would help. If all else fails a total sky replacement would really help here, other wise a fantastic image, very colorful, sharp & Crisp along with good composition. ~Bill~ Link to comment
raybrizzi 0 Posted May 7, 2008 I like white skies for the reason the others don't. For me, it acts as a virtual source of light for the rest of the picture without taking attention from the main subject. In fact, I would crop out the deepest blue at the top. I really like the bright colors and shapes against the dull browns of the water, which is what this picture is all about. Link to comment
whosecameraisforpix 0 Posted May 8, 2008 I have cropped the image to the treeline and here's how it looks. Have reposted it today to see the general reaction. Link to comment
raybrizzi 0 Posted May 8, 2008 The cropped shot doesn't have the same drama. The points of the boats mirror the peaks of the mountains, which is what caught my eye from the thumbnail. Link to comment
pankaj purohit 1 Posted September 17, 2008 One of the best compostion from your portfolio Sekhar, except the blown sky. I would like keep this uncroped version on top of croped another. Best regards Link to comment
