alberta_pizzolato 21 Posted May 6, 2008 Well, you're in the right spot with a great camera and had a terrific opportunity. I like but don't love this photo and if you're of a mind to listen me ramble a bit, here goes: The composition IMO suffers from "Extraneous stranger looking at lens and providing BG distraction." Unless you changed your position, or you shot again after she left, or you clone-stamp her out, she's part of the photo. The subject is VERY interesting but alas, my enjoyment of this beauty is held back by a couple of technicals - or at least I think they are. Half the time my husband insists they're personal preferences so if you're still reading, taking everything that follows with a grain of salt. First is focus: I'm finding so much of what should be in sharp focus on this model to be in just slightly blurry focus and it's dizzying (the hair especially.) Lighting is very difficult at these events and you did pretty well, considering. Perhaps some post processing of over-exposure on her forehead, nose and right shoulder might improve. The color palate is mostly good except for what I see on my monitor as too yellow on the right shoulder and close to the dress straps on the left one. Lastly, I would have cropped the bottom 1/16th of this photo to eliminate whatever is causing a flesh-colored blur at the bottom toward the left corner. Really lastly is I'm jealous. I went to one of these a while back. What fun!! Cheers ~ Link to comment
