Thanks, David. I found it impossible to take a good sunset without something like this. The best photographers here on PN use GND filters, so I have to admit that I succumbed to peer pressure. I'd like to thank Younes Bounhar and Piotr Czechowski for their particularly strong arm-twisting. And I'd like to thank PN for doing its part to drain my bank account. :)

Lol, while its not exactly the same photo.. this is close enough. I can't decide if I like the textures and lines brought out by the b&w or the rich colors in this. Both look spectacular buddy.

This rock and shore combination is a much photographed scene but I have to admit this stands out from the crowd! The detail and colour are beautiful (the rocks and parts of the sky have an almost HDR look about them!).

P.S. How do you find the camera?

Thank you all for your comments. I really appreciate it. Simon, the Mark III is really wonderful; however, I am underwhelmed with the "sensor clean" feature which is my real lazy-self motive for upgrading. The camera handles very much like the Mark II. The sensor response and behavior is quite similar even though the new sensor is larger and has smaller wells for light. I get very fast exposures when I want them and longer exposures when I want those. I figure I only live once, but the 5D or Mark II are probably much more economical.

Hi Ross, I was using the newer 16-?? mm Canon lens. I've never had experience with such WA before and find the results kind of exciting. Thanks.

Kurt, this is nothing short of spectacular. I love everything about this...from the foreground, to the light, to the sunburst. Sweeeeeet shot.

Oh Yea!! Love the detail in the sky, kind of mirrors the detail in the rocky foreground. Are you using a Singh Ray filter. The 4 stop is the way I would like to go next because I find many times I have to stack 2s and 3s to tame these rangey scenes. Definitely some rating discrepencies, this should be above double sixes easily. Extraordinary shot Kurt!
