kurt2006 0 Posted April 30, 2008 Experimenting with my new reverse GND glass. Thanks. Link to comment
dwoel 0 Posted April 30, 2008 Looks to me like the experiment is a big success. Very nice shot with pleasing exposure throughout. Link to comment
kurt2006 0 Posted April 30, 2008 Thanks, David. I found it impossible to take a good sunset without something like this. The best photographers here on PN use GND filters, so I have to admit that I succumbed to peer pressure. I'd like to thank Younes Bounhar and Piotr Czechowski for their particularly strong arm-twisting. And I'd like to thank PN for doing its part to drain my bank account. :) Link to comment
deans 0 Posted April 30, 2008 Kurt, You really scored with this one. The texture in the rocks, wow! Your composition, lighting all done well. Congrats. Dean Link to comment
BelaMolnar 2 Posted April 30, 2008 O.K. 5 minutes later. Very nice, but I prefer the b/w version. Cheers; Bela Link to comment

sketch_tbhotmail.com 11 Posted April 30, 2008 Lol, while its not exactly the same photo.. this is close enough. I can't decide if I like the textures and lines brought out by the b&w or the rich colors in this. Both look spectacular buddy. Link to comment
njohnson 0 Posted April 30, 2008 Damn, Looks like they work fantastic. Now that I see some really nice results I just may have to put down some money for a few myself. Great shot! Love the extreme depth of this photo. Addition of close forground really makes this work. Not to mention the colors! Great work and thanks for sharing! Link to comment
younes 0 Posted April 30, 2008 FANTASTIC!! Looks like you've got the hang of it ;-). Gorgeous comp. Link to comment
dacamera 0 Posted April 30, 2008 This rock and shore combination is a much photographed scene but I have to admit this stands out from the crowd! The detail and colour are beautiful (the rocks and parts of the sky have an almost HDR look about them!). Simon P.S. How do you find the camera? Link to comment
kurt2006 0 Posted April 30, 2008 Thank you all for your comments. I really appreciate it. Simon, the Mark III is really wonderful; however, I am underwhelmed with the "sensor clean" feature which is my real lazy-self motive for upgrading. The camera handles very much like the Mark II. The sensor response and behavior is quite similar even though the new sensor is larger and has smaller wells for light. I get very fast exposures when I want them and longer exposures when I want those. I figure I only live once, but the 5D or Mark II are probably much more economical. Link to comment

kurt2006 0 Posted April 30, 2008 Hi Ross, I was using the newer 16-?? mm Canon lens. I've never had experience with such WA before and find the results kind of exciting. Thanks. Link to comment
copeg 0 Posted April 30, 2008 Kurt, this is nothing short of spectacular. I love everything about this...from the foreground, to the light, to the sunburst. Sweeeeeet shot. Link to comment
lonebearimages 0 Posted May 1, 2008 Something out of a fairy tale...Greg has it right...Sweeeet! Fix your horizon, it dips just a skosh down on the left side. Oh, hell, who cares...Superb work, Kurt! Cheers! Chris Link to comment
whydangle 0 Posted May 2, 2008 Oh Yea!! Love the detail in the sky, kind of mirrors the detail in the rocky foreground. Are you using a Singh Ray filter. The 4 stop is the way I would like to go next because I find many times I have to stack 2s and 3s to tame these rangey scenes. Definitely some rating discrepencies, this should be above double sixes easily. Extraordinary shot Kurt! Link to comment
