bevip 0 Posted April 29, 2008 Complimenti davvero Giuseppe, Non so' se questa l'hai catturata o progettata ma ti assicuro che e' senza dubbio di sicuro effetto. Ciao bevip Link to comment
godfather 0 Posted April 30, 2008 Very striking shot. Was the gondolier really there or did you placed him there? The texture on the arc surface looks really cool. Link to comment
giuseppe_pasquali 0 Posted April 30, 2008 Dear Paolo and Tero, I was watching this nice bridge arch from the bottom when I noticed the constant gondolas traffic and the nice hat wore by the gondoliers, so I decided to give this "vision" a try, and stood still till a gondolier positioned exactly where I wanted him (I had decided that the arch should have been positioned in the upper left side of the photo). Don't know why but the striking contrast between the red band on the hat and the darkness of the bridge arch had made a strong impression on my photographic eye. Thank you for your comments and ratings, Giuseppe. Link to comment
godfather 0 Posted April 30, 2008 For me especially the red colours against the dark water on the bacground looks great. And yes, the arc was perfectly positioned and looks great there. Link to comment

johncrosley 1 Posted October 5, 2009 previously, it never dawned on me what part of its greatness was, and I'm sorry to be 'late to the party'. (I had seen this photo without your explanation, but when I looked at it from a compositional eye, I absolutely 'knew' you had pre-visualized it, and now I read above, how you did that, just as I understood intuitively. Now, of course, it occurs to me, this, (one of your rarer color photos done magnificently) is a study in semi-circles. The 'semi-circle' or 'C' Curve of the arched bridge, complements the same curve, in reduced form in the gondolier's hat. Two semi-circles, one white and one with a red ribbon, make for a very effective and very 'artistic' composition. Magnificent! Why and how could I have overlooked the reasons, after months of staring off and on? See reasons, above, of course. Bravo. John (Crosley) Link to comment
