This portrait of a friend and fellow photographer was taken in a

studio session and back lit with two flashes. As always, I appreciate

any kind of feedback. Thanks a lot for your time!

i really like this particular type of portraiture. the composition is good. you have been a little too severe with cropping in the right hand side. the full arm would have been nice or perhaps a really close crop to the arm on the left hand side.

the highlights are problematic to my eyes. this might well be praise by other viewers but i am finding the highlighting along the rim of the hat to be a little too overbearing.

other than that lovely effort.

Hey Anthony. First off. Nice shot. The only two things I have for you are that I agree that the right portion of the photo is cropped a little too tightly. Secondly I think this would be a little stronger if the subject was positioned dead on to your camera. Seems as if he is pointing a little to the right. Otherwise nice shot. I think the highlights on the left are a bit hot as well. Take care

Thanks for your comment! I agree concerning the crop! The room was unfortunately very dark and it was difficult to get the framing.

The highlights are due to the back lighting. I very slightly increased the contrast and I guess you would probably prefer the original version. I attached it for reference.

Thanks again for your time and comment!

I first thought he was a Blues Player, then brought the image up and discovered a excellent mood in lighting and contrast! Excellent B&W.
