blaise_fiedler 0 Posted August 23, 2002 I was wondering whether it would be better to have used the flash to see the details of the "wake boarder" or not. Also, I have the feeling the boarder is too central - probably not the best crop, but then I wanted to keep the sun rays on the left. Any comments from enlightnend photographers are welcome! john_pettitt 0 Posted August 26, 2002 I think I'd have cropped it quite a lot tighter to put the boarder in the right half of the frame. Maybe the smallest hint of fill flash would have helped bring the subject out from the background of the coast but it would be easy to overdo it and spoil what is fundamentally a nice shot. chad_harvey 0 Posted August 26, 2002 Nice action shot, especially with the backlighting effect. Link to comment
voets 0 Posted August 26, 2002 Would have been really cool if the waterskier was jumping into the clouds, Now he somewhat merges with the dark background Link to comment
giuseppe_miriello1 0 Posted August 26, 2002 if the man had jumped higher u would have been able to shot him over a wonderful sky.the black ribbon deletes half the body, removing sense of motion from the picture.maybe a fill flash would have helped, maybe u could have asked the boat driver to move so that u can gain a better background. nice pic anyway Link to comment
frank_goroszko 0 Posted September 15, 2002 Water line is crooked. Should be cropped some. Link to comment
John Peri 1,039 Posted October 12, 2002 An amazing shot Blaise. Well done. I don't usually like fooling around with other people's photos, but I must say that John's cropping above is also a succesful rendering of this image. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted January 3, 2003 Boy if you could catch this one with the light on the skiers front side or flash it, this could be a 7. Great sky. Link to comment
brian l. schiele 0 Posted January 7, 2003 I like this image... For a waterski photograph it is very different. I like how it, and would not crop it. Nor would I post a cropped version in my critque. Some fill flash would be nice, but this image works well as it is. Link to comment
