richard hans 0 Posted April 10, 2008 lOVE the splendid composition, muted tonal range & perfect contrast which makes very nice mood & interesting story here, Joseph P., another wonderful rendering of the B/W!!! Best regards Link to comment
chris_panagiotidis 0 Posted April 10, 2008 A composition that rocks! Wonderful image Joseph ,where the path lines and the scarce clouds add a lot to the charm of the photo. The standing figure adds scale, human presence and a sense of optimism-a crucial factor for me. Compliments, Chris Link to comment
uspandey 0 Posted April 10, 2008 Quiet a classic, Joseph. Reminds me of Thomas Hardy! Link to comment
lonebearimages 0 Posted April 10, 2008 This is a superb photograph; and one that works really well in black and white. I love the composition you assembled here; it is quite striking! The gravel road is a terrific lead-in to the person and the old school. This has wonderful tonal range and contrasts as well. The tiny cotton-puff clouds accent that deep rich sky nicely. Even in the larger view there is still some banding in the blue sky. It may simply still be the PN compression; or you may want to look at the cyan and/or blue adjustments in your B&W conversion. All in all, Joseph; this well executed and presented. Cheers! Chris Link to comment
bradkim 8 Posted April 10, 2008 I love this photo very much, Joe! I has a very unique mood... lone figure in front of this old stone building adds to it. Scattered small white clouds against deep sky add further.... Wonderful b&w image! Link to comment
mareval 2 Posted April 10, 2008 Beautiful composition Joseph but I really think this should be a very good image to be done with their Natural Colors, sorry, this is my modest and very particular opinion... Best Wishes. Link to comment

joe-tury 0 Posted April 10, 2008 Love it. Another compositional masterpiece, much like your previous Flint Hills image. I like the tonal range of these last couple B/Ws. I think having the person standing there is the icing on the cake. Link to comment

margaret1 0 Posted April 11, 2008 Your black and whites have more color than most color images. The feeling is so strong-the old school is regal. Great image. Link to comment

bosshogg 4 Posted April 11, 2008 Another truly fine image. I think the darkness is completely appropriate as a metaphor for the darkness that has now descended upon the structure. Even though it has been preserved, is original function and life has been set aside, most likely for all eternity. So even in renovation and transformation it shall be a relic and a sad reminder of what was in a time of hope. Link to comment
baerbel 0 Posted April 11, 2008 Love those strange little puffs of clouds in the dark sky here. The swing set is almost as big as the school house and I suppose an American flag used to fly on the pole next to it. Nicely presented, Joe! ;) Link to comment
pnfphotography 0 Posted April 11, 2008 This is picture perfect the dabs of clouds and the wide open range love the road leading the eye into the image. Very nice BW Link to comment
