You have conveyed the feeling of helplessness in the monkeys eyes and the blur of the cage adds to this in my opinion. But I think it would have been better either without the second upper cage (to convey the lonelyness, or with more of the upper cage to enhance the trapped feeling.

The tortoise shells are a great illustration of this creatures fate.

Great image, however, I would crop off the top at the top edge/corner of the cage and burn-in the white and red spots that are left at the top. In this case, less is best.
