kahkityoong 0 Posted April 5, 2008 Awesome capture. I would have a preference for seeing more detail under the water in the foreground to be extremely critical. Link to comment

ryoung 0 Posted April 6, 2008 Simon, Photos like these are why I keep checking back on your work. Absolutely amazing composition and detail. Well done. Cheers, Ryan ...and the title is well apropos. Link to comment
ian cameron 0 Posted April 9, 2008 Simon utterly magnificent, staggering light and a great title to match the photo. I think this is my favourite either this or the other Glencoe winter shot. I'm not sure it really matters but could you have got just a couple of inches higher to make those mid ground rocks align with the dark reflection of the background hills so they don't cut into the land behind. dacamera 0 Posted April 9, 2008 Hi Ian, many thanks for the constructive comment. It's a funny thing but when I was composing this I deliberately put that rock there to avoid having an un interrupted line across the image. I feel that dividing the picture into segments can give a slightly disconnected feeling (just a personal thing, I could well be wrong!). All the best Simon Link to comment
culturedphoto.com 0 Posted April 23, 2008 Have missed seeing your work on 'the other place' and have just spotted this! Not sure how I missed it but its outstandingly good .... one of the best I have seen from here. Agree with Ian about the rocks though as he mentions im not sure it matters when the final result is this damn good. Dan Link to comment
michael anderson 0 Posted May 4, 2008 Incredible Simon! This one lingers in the memory long after you have left it. Extremely well done. Link to comment
samuelbitton 0 Posted May 24, 2008 A simply beautiful shot Simon. What I love most, apart from its great composition, is the contrast between its peaceful feel rendered by the rather warm colours and the blurred water, with the obviously harsh and cold conditions. Samuel Link to comment

ianflindt 0 Posted August 1, 2008 Simon, This has to be my favourite image in the remarkable Butterworth portfolio and one of the finest landscape photographs I've ever seen. The art at its supreme best. Ian Link to comment
mg 0 Posted August 6, 2008 I've always loved such vertical compositions with a great foreground, and this foreground is just so beautiful by itself that it would make a fantastic square crop as well. Then the eye can wander around in the background, and there are still very nice things to see there. A very successful take in my view. Regards. Link to comment
edward_voitekunas 0 Posted September 21, 2008 Hi Simon!
