I personaly would not remove the right side of the image. I like the contrast caused by the blackness

Richard, Yeah I thought the same and had a little play... But I kept going back...

very impressive. regarding cropping on right side - I would do little bit - will reduce most of the dark but still keep some to match gradual darkness on the top - light through clouds on right side is important to keep. maybe will crop some of the bottom. but see, all these croppings do not change much because tha capture is great and fills most of the frame!

Heath, It looked pretty awesome out to sea, but this was actually the only real big external strike of the 25 minutes I was there, the rest were little worms and small strikes right under the clouds... I am chuffed I had the shutter open at the right moment!

 

The highs are possibly blown out a bit but shots like this are so exciting. The right side could be slightly cropped but it leaves room for the imagination. What a great shot, Bill!
