alberta_pizzolato 21 Posted April 23, 2008 The lineup is terrific. With heads turned left and right, it's as though they were posing for you! Wonderful POV too. The DOF is pretty good, although IMO you might have gone just an f/stop or two lower to really fuzz the BG. When there's this much going on in the BG, it fights with the viewer's attention to the subject(s) in the foreground and creates a bit of visual confusion. If this were my photo, I would selectively post process the background and lighten/blur a bit. If you can't or don't post process, then I would use the lowest f/stop available next time you have a photo op like this one. If you have a minute, check out my "Late for Work" photo in my Birds folder. It's a great photo of a heron in flight that's ruined by a too-busy background. Happens to the best of us ;( Finally, a suggestion about posting: It's very helpful for critique purposes to know what settings you used. It's a pain to enter - wish PN had an automatic transfer of the data - but I've received great advice because I did share that information. Many thanks for sharing from a big-time bird lover. rj russell 0 Posted April 24, 2008 Thank you for your input Alberta! I will attempt to selectiely post process. I have only used Lightroom to edit my photos to date, I have just picked up CS3 so this would be a great lil project to introduce my self to the software. I couldnt agree with you more about posting with settings. Off to check out "Late For work" Cheers Link to comment
