Though handicapped, they lived well in their own way & time. Good comparison & contrast of the 2 subject.

Very strong image with a great human/history connection and significance, Dimitris. Execution , light and and timing are spot on.

I read your bio, and coming from the medical world in my past, I appreciate your sensitivity here even more.

Yes Dennis.Did you not receive my email?. The picture was never posted for critique. I had to do some minor alterations to it before I put it out to the critique forum. I am really sorry that I lost your wonderful comment.

... but that's okay. Just wanted to make sure I didn't go crazy here. BTW, if you want to do that again, you don't have to remove the whole post. Go to Options/Edit Photo Info and just reselect the picture, leaving all your metadata and comments, etc. in place.

I actually remember referring to this shot in a post to Marios Lefteriotis (http://photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=5958309).

As to the comment, I'm sure it had to do with the great composition here, with each of the elements so tellingly and perfectly placed. This is a great shot.

I see a lovely juxtaposition of thoughts, sightless eyes gazing down on a mobility - chair. I see the figure in the chair looking up at those strong sculpted legs. Great light and composition/framing too. Nice work! best wishes ~ mike

A deeply human snapshot Dimitri ! Excellent for my favorites. Very wisely you chose B/W shooting (or processing). It favors the synthesis and the back story of it. My first thought was, when reviewing the photo, that the white wall on the left was unnecessary, but I tried it cropped and the image lost its power. Perhaps this white surface is the anticlimax emotionally of the whole scenery.

Regards, Marios

Thank you Marie, this was shot in colour and converted to mono. I think that as you say, a very powerful human back story depicted here. I also thought that the wall was distracting some what, but I came to the same conclusion as you.Perhaps I can tone it down a bit; I think it adds to the depth of the picture in any case. Regards, Dimitris.

... one of my favorites on PN. Was thinking about you and the other PN friends who I've missed in my recent absence from the site, and of course this image came to mind. It is a wonderful photograph, only one of many in your remarkable body of work. But to my mind, my favorite.
